Physical Therapy FAQ's

1. How many times a week and for how long do I need to attend therapy?

Usually therapy is 3 times a week for 4 weeks, depending on your progress and condition. Sometimes additional therapy is needed/indicated if the injury or impairment is significant.

2. Is therapy going to help my injury?

The intention of therapy is to provide the best possible results, allowing patients to resume a level of function that gives them the best quality of life.

3. What is the recovery time on this specific injury?

Not all injuries are the same and not all people heal at the same rate. Recovery times may vary for each person and for each injury. Your therapist may give you specific details after your initial evaluation.

4. Does insurance, Medicare/Medicaid pay for physical and occupational therapy sessions?

Our office staff will ease all of our insurance jitters. We call each insurance company to verify the coverage and to let you know exactly what your benefits are and if there is a co-pay. Most all therapy is covered by insurance. We are providers for Medicare/Medicaid and Workers Compensation.

5. How bad does the pain have to be before I should come to therapy?

It is always a good idea to address a problem early on so you have the best possible chance for a great outcome. Often, chronic problems result from issues not being addressed at the onset of pain. If it interferes or limits your functional activities that you are normally able to do, then it is time to seek physical therapy.

6. Is there a chance that this injury may reoccur?

At TuDor Physical Therapy Centers we strive to find you the best possible care to prevent and or minimize injury reoccurrence.

7. What therapy treatments do you feel are more effective?

We have different modalities and treatment that we feel are effective depending on the diagnosis. We utilize manual therapy including Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), and Graston Technique, Trigger Point Dry Needling, McKenzie Methodology, Pneumatic Compression Modalities, Radial Pulse Therapy.

We also find that our laser treatment in conjunction with other modalities during the same therapy session has gotten great results with diagnosis including: plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, shoulder bursitis tendonitis, carpal tunnel and reflex sympathetic dystrophy.
